CONSULTATION ON WATER FLUORIDATION - NEW LABOUR'S NEXT BIG 'CONVERSATION' SWINDLE?[1]

It should come as no surprise to the initiated that 'consultation' with local communities on new water fluoridation schemes will likely be open to abuse and manipulation.

Despite making claims that local populations will have to show a significant level of support for such schemes, pro-fluoridation elements within the establishment (Parliament, medical/dental authorities) will want to ensure that any opposition will be stifled.

Supporting this contention is the disgraceful and dishonest tactics recently used in Parliament to pass the clause on water fluoridation in the Water Bill. Not only was shoddy science and statistics used to push through this clause, but pro-fluoridation MPs also distorted facts and even told deliberate lies.

As for the 'free' vote in Parliament on the issue, Bill Wiggin, MP, said: "On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker. I seek your guidance about whether a free vote means that the Government Chief Whip should herd her supporters into the No Lobby."[2]

Health Authorities are also likely consider the use of rigged or 'secretive' opinion polls.[3] Such deceitful measures have been used consistently by the pro-fluoridation lobby over many years to give the false impression that the general public supports water fluoridation.[3]
